Obscura (Score) - Music composed for the theatre play of the same name, commissioned by D. Rus. The material for this horror play was written and recorded between January and February 2013. The combination of high frequencies/relatively low overall volume and audio deformations were originally intended and specially designed to fit the visuals.
"This music is scary in the same way the Penderecki compositions used in Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” is scary. Its completely suspenseful, and keeps you moving frame-by-frame, wondering what hides behind the next corner, or under the bed. Aniol is no stranger to dark compositions, but this one turns the darkness up to eleven."
"Gorgeous, terrifying, dark - Adrian Aniol's latest work "Obscura" will give you goose-bumps." @MarkStaufer
"Obscura, a soundtrack that demands from listener a lot. 16 pieces that gives the listener the feeling of losing control. Aniol plays with contrasts of beauty and ugliness, melody and dissonance, cold and heat. A highly recommended sound journey."
"Somewhere between post-classical dark ambient held highly by the Miasmah label, Penderecki's neurotic discrepancies and polished but creepy sound design. Terrifying experience."
